+376 The "Teen" section at bookstores should not have a seperate sub-section called "Paranormal Romance." Really, we need to stop this, amirite?

Why not? The amount of paranormal romance novels are increasing, At my school library Twilight is put in the horror section simply because "it has vampires in it and we dont want someone to be upset the paranormal creature is in their romance novel" Which I thought was awfully dumb cause imagine picking up Twilight thinking it's a horror novel. The new category helps in my opinion :) Unless you want people to stop writing Paranormal Romance Novels?

I picked up a book that seemed interesting once-first sentence of the second part was "I am a werewolf." I was so pissed off. >:(

I wholeheartedly agree. Every book in that section can be put under romance, fantasy, sci-fi, or some other already existing category. If two people get together in a sci-fi book, then it isn't "Science Fiction Romance", it's a freaking sci-fi book with romance in it. Bookstores need to stop making up genres and stick with the most basic category. If the book is about two teens falling in love, it's romance. If a werewolf moves to town, it's fantasy. If aliens are taking over, it's sci-fi, and so on. I'm tired of books with "enthralling vampire romance" and "exciting werewolf love stories". Hopefully this is just a fad and it'll all end soon.... /rant

The barnes & nobles in my neighborhood has 3 bookcases full of them. I mean, I like that they have their own section so they're easy to avoid, but why are there so many in the first place? You walk into the teen section and all you see in a sea of purple and black. lololol does anyone else have a Twilight ad on their page?

I'd be fine with it if it wasn't a third of my shrinking teen section.
