Its fucked up that 20 (ish) states allow first cousins to marry, but only five allow same sex couples, amirite?

It isn't really fucked up because this country is mainly a Christian country. Theres nothing wrong with same sex marriage in my op. But according to the Bible, there really shouldn't be same sex marriage. Its unfair but not really fucked up if you think about it.

I just don't get how the law in some places seems to condone inbreeding, but denies some people the right to marry the person they love. Now that is pretty fucked up.

They can be in love, yes, but their kids are more likely to suffer from diseases, just look back in history and there's hundreds of royals that were just so fucked up biologically because of inbreeding, thats not really right now is it?

I think it's messed up. How can the country support separation of church and state and say gay marriage is immoral and such. Marriage is a legal agreement so it shouldn't matter what the bible says.

If you have a child with your first cousin, even with your sibling, the probability of your child having abnormalities are greatly exaggerated. They are higher than normal, sure, but odds are your child will be fine. Not that I think marrying your cousin is a good idea :P

You're right, I think if you reproduce with your first cousin the child only has only a 4-5% more chance of having abnormalities.

Yeah the danger only really comes when this behaviour is repeated through several generations. If your parents are cousins, and their parents are cousins and their parents etc., then you really shouldn't be messing around with you cousin. Not that messing around with your cousin is okay when your parents aren't related.
