+73 People can fall in love with objects like buildings and cars just as much as they can fall in love with people, amirite?

I reckon love is two-sided. If I fancy someone, I wouldn't consider it love if they couldn't show me affection back.

I don't agree with that, but I can understand it.

Can you explain what you meant by the post? Are you saying love as in romanic (or even sexual) love, or love as in a more platonic way, such as how I would say I love a certain coffeshop or something, because of the way it makes me feel and the emotions I associate with it.

romantic (or even sexual). This isn't a troll post or anything; I'm legitimately wondering if there's many people that would accept such a weird concept. Obviously Amish_Allosaurus doesn't accept it at all =p

I don't doubt that some people could feel great affection and attraction for an object. But if it can't love you back, it's too superficial to be called "love".

they have a show on tlc about people who fall in love with objects. ive never watched it, but in the preview it showed a girl hugging and kissing a wall she was in love with.

If you fall in love with/find a dependence on owning inanimate objects it's indicative or your parents not establishing a real sense of internal worth or showing that you are really loved for who you are and not what you have.

There was a documentary about a guy who loved his cars. He had sex with them too. Yes, he rubbed his naked body over his cars

For it to be real love or a real relationship both parties involved need to be in love. If you're in love with an object it will always be like that unrequited middle school crush. Though I'm not saying it's wrong I will say that it must be very unfulfilling to love an object that can never say, "I love you too."

Objectum sexuals, I believe they're called? Yes, a real thing. I don't get it, but it happens.

I only understand the sentimental side of this, not the sexual orientation stuff. But anywho, I guess it does occur to certain individuals.
