+598 rule to live by in college: never turn down free food, amirite?

I don't really get the free food thing in college. If you have a meal plan (which most people who live in dorms do) and you have like $25 a week from either your parents or your job to spend on food, you shouldn't have the need for any free food.

You still have to pay for that meal plan, and most of the time the food isn't all that great. And I don't know anyone in college who gets $25 a week from their parents. Plus, there aren't a whole lot of jobs in college towns, so a lot of people work seriously low wage jobs. So free food= love.

Don't most kids still get money from their parents in college?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not much. I mean, there are the kids who are spoiled rotten or still get an allowance, but most kids have to ask for money. They don't just have it handed to them weekly.
