+1,227 The scary part isn't what Hitler did, but how he convinced so many people he was right, amirite?

Agreed. One man by himself, or even a small group couldn't have that effect. He involved not only European governments, but also American ones. Most people didn't realise the extent of what they were supporting until too late.

It's similar if you ever read a book about serial killers, one of the most disturbing things is not just their crimes, but the fact that most of them were caught by pure accident, and not the result of police investigation.

To be fair, what he did is pretty terrifying too.

It's both terrifying, but my grandma told me this long-winded story today and this is also pretty scary. Her dad's friend, who was from Germany, had a song that went to college near where she lived and he visited on Christmas. The family had a close friend, let's call him John Doe, who married a sweetheart who happened to be Jewish, that was also visiting for Christmas. The German son was offered a glass of wine by my great-grandfather, but he denied it. He said, "I don't drink with Jews." That was in AMERICA. Those closed-minded beliefs were in our country, our free country. I might be overreacting, in fact, I probably am, but still. The original Europeans that went here wanted religious freedom, and look at what happened. It was only 70 years ago...

Apparently there are still "country clubs" and the like that ban Jews.

its both..have you heard of the wave? A S.S teacher couldnt believe he convinced so many people so he tried to do it with his class. The class was called the wave and people not in the wave got beaten up and were treated as lesser humans. Eventually he had to stop it because it was getting out of hand.
