In third grade my friend was reading a story to the class and the name Jorge was in it. He pronounced it Horj. My teacher was like, "no, it's horhay" and my friend went, "no, I'm pretty sure it's Horj."

It is pronounced "George" in English, and "Horhay" in Spanish.

Well this is awkward... in my grade 6 math class, we had a assignment about "Jorge" and our teacher told us with was pronounced "Yorgay"... and being the immature group of children that we were, we laughed every time she said it... finally she made us pronounce it George :)
