+418 What happened on Black Friday, two years ago in Long Island, is absolutely disgusting and ridiculous. We all need to practice patience and respect this year, and realize Christmas is not all about the gifts, and saving some money is not worth killing anyone over, amirite?

i love how this is posted after black friday and it talks about being safe on black friday.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually this was posted on black Friday... And, if OP is in the US, it could've been on Thursday.

@817465 (vicki_ana): oh my gosh, thats TERRIBLE! who would do that? crazy people..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that literally just made me wish humanity a slow painful death.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(*facepalm*): ..you are a human.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah. i heard about that, pretty sad

A WalMart employee was trampled by a crowd that morning as he opened the door for the morning. It happened in a Target in Buffalo yesterday.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A U.S. Marine was stabbed outside of a Best Buy yesterday.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Damn. All Marines, regardless of the job he has, are highly trained in hand to hand combat, and disarming weapons. Did he at least try to defend himself? I find it disturbing how some people are willing to stab others just to save a few bucks. It's even more disturbing how they stab people who have given them the right to be standing where they are in the first place.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Believe me, I know. I'm a United States Marine myself. The man was outside of a Best Buy unloading some toys for the Marine's Toys For Tots program and he was attempting to stop the man from stealing a laptop. There is an article on it right here. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/11/26/AR2010112603599.html

really?!?!?! wtf happened!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree. The commercialism is too much. ):

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When I tell people I don't really like Christmas, I use this story as one of the reasons. I believe it was at a Wal-mart :/ I feel so bad for his children. How do you explain the death of your father to people? If someone told me this I might have laughed and thought they were lying.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think a pregnant lady was trampled by people too. Both her and her baby died :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think she was just injured

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, but either way, people are just crazy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Was he a greeter? haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Your name fits.

I can't believe they just kept shopping after they announced that a guy was killed. People seriously need to get their priorities straight. "How could you take a man's life to save $20 on a TV?" Ridiculous.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They actually closed the Walmart that day after it happened and no one was allowed to purchase anything. Serves them right.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This made me lose all faith in humanity. There is no words strong enough to describe the hatred I feel for the people who did it. That's pathetic. :'(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My mom was working a black friday at a shoe store and got trampled. Put her in the hospital for weeks. Thank god she wasn't killed. She had a really bad concussion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People are selfish, it's human nature. It's a horrible thing, and I don't agree with it, but I don't think there is anything we can do to change it. All we can do is learn from what happened to avoid repeating the incident. I feel that the shoppers do need to get their priorities straight however, if a man died while I was shopping on Black Friday and I was told that the store needed to be cleared, I would have left without question, instead of bitching about how long I've been camping outside of the store. In fact, people who do camp outside of stores are just plain stupid. If you're so short on money that you need to kill somebody for a good deal, perhaps you shouldn't be so obsessed with shopping?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I totally agree with you on this point. But there are those people who are short on money and need that 'deal' to get some presents for their children or something. Other than that, I find it disgusting how they do this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Then they can buy them something cheaper. Just because a child says they want something doesn't mean that they have to get it. When I was younger, there were several things that I asked for but never got, and several things that I got but never asked for, but enjoyed all the same. It's the thought that counts, and somehow people always seem to forget this, especially on days like Black Friday.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Though we all want the best for ourselves and families what I can't argue with that logic, there's a meaning behind it all, and that matters most.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I reckon the world should arm and fire all nuclear missiles in existance. Clearly, humanity has fucked up big time. If people care more about 20 dollars than another human's life, we as a species clearly don't deserve to live on planet Earth. We need to start over. And don't forget how people can get away with murder, burglary, etc; AND even sue the victims. Humanity must die.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Killing off the entire human race is not a solution. Humans need to learn, not be wiped out. Eventually, something will have to happen that allows us to see clearly and gain some compassion, rather than only caring about ourselves.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

True. But certainly not this generation, maybe we as a generation fucked up. These things didn't happen 80 years ago

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People generally tend to think that our generation DID fuck up. And if you think about it, they're kind of right. People getting pregnant at 13 - 16 years old and getting an abortion without even thinking about it, or shooting up an entire school just because the students make fun of you didn't really happen with previous generations.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes indeed, these things weren't an issue back in the day.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can't believe that was two years ago. It seems like it was just yesterday... I hate this society.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can't imagine what type of person would be driven to ever do something like that, so it's scary that it was a whole mob of people. Every single person who refused to leave after hearing of a person's death should have been charged. That's total absence of human moral and really leaves you wondering what the hell is happening to humanity. Our race can't last like this, seriously.
