I always arrive 10 minutes late for informal meetings and 10 minutes early for formal ones. Why 10 minutes late? Because I want the attendees to get used to the expectation that the meeting doesn't start til I walk in.

Getting early to parties does not apply to me because I'm Colombian and we are always late. Early for me is getting there less than an hour late.
