+215 Even though people didn't have them way back in the day, THIS GENERATION would not be able to really survive without cell phones and the internet, amirite?

If cell phones and the internet had never been inveted, we would still be fine. But now that we have tasted cell phones and the internet, there is no going back. Getting rid of all that stuff would send the world to the dogs.

Throw the internet and cell phones away and I'll give it 5 years before we're back to where we were. It's not that big of a deal, we just think it is because that's all we know.

That was my point, that is why I emphasized "THIS GENERATION" :P.

Fine, but what's the difference between this generation and the 5-years-into-the-future generation?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Nothing, I only meant that "It's NOT really that big of a deal, we only THINK it is"...because we have only ever known life with those things, imagining life without them is difficult for most of today's youth.

Interesting, I did not read it that way. The way you put it now sounds a lot more like something I would agree with.

LOL, thanks! :)... that was what I meant, guess I should be more clear when I post, huh? :P

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Maybe, I guess I could have just been way off. haha Hey, I just gave you a two point swap.

Sweet! thanks :).

Here we are, 5 years in the future... shaking our heads at the fate of the future generations frown

There is no cell service where I am, and I only just got high speed internet because it's only become available recently. When I come home from the city, in about a week (maybe less) I'm over it. I think even if it was all gotten rid of we'd be fine in a little while. I do, however, believe that cell phones have a good place and are quite useful (hence the popularity).

This is an interesting way to think of things..... unfortunately, MOST of todays youth don't have your mindset :-|.
