+533 Since we are able to fit a normal school day’s work into a two-hour delay school day, why can’t we start that late every day, amirite?

Why is this post under "Love," you silly girl.

Because it's what the pointer landed on.

If each class is say, 15 minutes shorter, multiply it by 180. That's 2700 minutes, or 45 hours. You lose 45 hours of learning per class. If you're in an AP or advanced class, that is a LOT of learning. I really would love sleeping later, but 45 hours per class is a LOT of time. And my teachers complain about 2 hr delays because they don't get the full lesson in.

Where I live we get out of school an hour early on wednesday. Teachers always do less on those days.

It's not just that; the real world generally isn't going to let you start your work day at 10am... unless you work in a pretty menial job. Whether we like it or not, business gets underway early; might as well get used to it right away.

School starts at 7:30 here, lots of jobs start at 9:00.

1)wow that sucks; mine started at 8 or 8:30am 2) 9am is not 10am.

At my school we don't fit in the entire day if we have a delay. We skip the first two classes and go to the third. I assume they figured that we won't have an adequate lesson if time is cut short.

Same :)

I agree with this post. On 2 hour delays, we're still able to take tests, get all the lesson plans in, etc.

We miss the first two periods of the day, then the ones we do go to are short by about twenty minutes, and I miss out on going to tech school in the morning. There is no way to fit a whole day of work in when you miss two hours.
