Sometimes I feel bad for older people who aren't married. But when you think about it, it doesn't make sense to assume that they're unhappy. Some people can be perfectly happy being single.

I wear a ring on my left ring finger but I'm neither engaged nor married. It's not always a reliable thing to go by.
