+625 It seems like on tv shows and in movies that take place in a school, they either have a uniform, or no dress code at all, amirite?

I'm not sure what the third option is...

@854271 (Anonymous): @853948 (Aphrodite): I suppose a set dress code. I guess a uniform is where you can only wear, say, a blue shirt and khakis. But a dress code would be you can wear any collared shirt and khakis or navy blue pants. Uniform= very specific outfits you can wear. Dress code= variations of outfits but with strict rules.

It could also mean reasonable restrictions on what type of clothes you wear. For example, at my old school you couldn't wear short shorts that were shorter than where your arm hangs down, or tank tops with straps under three fingers wide, and no bandanas because of the gang problem in our area.

Just like real life.

I just ment that there are some schools where you can wear what you want, but it can't be like really short shorts or tank tops. That's what it is at my school, but it's never like that on tv

i think they have dress codes on the Jonas show....not sure watched it like once or twice...

My school doesn't have a dress code. XD

True. And they always have nice uniforms, not polo shirts and baggy dress pants like my school. People also wear tube tops and hats in class, which you definitely can't in most non-uniform schools.
