-272 Everyone is just afraid to admit the Twilight series is actually really well written. It's so simple because no teenager would ever talk all complex, and that's what makes it amazing. There, I said it, now amirite?

it boils down to a bitch who feels like humans aren't enough for her and she wants to live with unnatuaral creatures or atleast be one

It's the best book ever written, better than that harry potter crap!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's well written (not in the sense people think of when that term is used). It has moderate vocabulary, semi interesting plot twists, and...kind of believable characters (well developed at least). It's not the worst book ever written, but it also isn't gold. One of my teachers called it "Junk food reading". You read it once because it sounds good, but it's not the same as a healthy novel.

(<(^_^)>): The vocabulary was NOT well-used. It was like in 8th grade when you just start using vocabulary in essays and it doesn't flow right. And the characters are NOT well-developed either.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The plot twists are as unexpected as the sun rising in the morning.

(<(^_^)>): I still can't agree with the fact that it is well written, but I agree it certainly isn't the worst book ever. It just gets extra hate because it is far more popular than its writing deserves. But it didn't kill me to read.

The Host was 10 times better, but even though Stephenie Meyer could really use a thesaurus, considering how may words are overused in the book, the Twilight series are decent books. The only reason why they became so popular is that it somehow gave young girls the idea that there is some sort of perfect life out there for them that they can attain at a young age.

these books are ridiculous. all they do is create problems where none existed, and Bella is just a shell of a character. Read Dan Bergstein's Blogging Twilight, it'll definitely change your mind about the books if you love them, and make you laugh if you already don't.

or alex reads twilight on youtube!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I read the Blogging Twilight! Dan's my favorite :D

NO. you're not right.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

has anyone noticed that the people who commented on this post and that were actually agreeing here are mostly anonymous? I am anonymous because i just don't feel like logging in but are they just ashamed? thats something to think about....(amirite?)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry about the grammar....its 5:20 in the mornining and I just woke up.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The book is written at a nine year old level. Complex? No.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What do you mean they are teenagers? They are teenagers, but they're freakin' Juniors in highschool, meaning their vocabulary should be way higher than what it is. Oh, and all the vampires are over a hundred years old, so then they should also have a wider range of vocabulary. I read the books when I was twelve, tried to read them again, and almost puked. Those books pretty much suck. But for a twelve year old....that is some deep shit. Are you twelve?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The book is decent if you read it once BEFORE the movie.

"There, I said it!" says anonymous....

Listing a bunch of adjectives in a row is not complex... I think we all outgrew that in 2nd grade.

The Twilight books keep you entertained. But, that's about it. Their poorly written and each and every character is very "Mary-Sue" (cliche, been done before, no depth at all) The only thing it has going for it is it's an easy read.. just like a post above me has said "junk food reading"

Pro troll is pro.

I'm 17, a boy and I like twilight. Vote me down and flame me all you want

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's actually a really good story but horribly written. There is no variation in the sentence length and even I can pick on typos that the non-exsistant editor must have missed. The flow is to choppy but the story behind the flaws is, in fact, decent

I read a blog on Twilight and for Breaking Dawn, I felt like half the time Stephanie Meyer was just throwing in random stuff into her story to twist the plot. Like first they need a lawyer to help the girl get away, then all of a sudden they don't need him anymore. And then the vampires from England (I think...) come and want to kill Bella's daughter, but then they don't. And then all this time we thought Jacob and his buddies were werewolves, but then they turned out to be shape shifters that wanted to be wolves. I felt like a second grader was telling me a story. "Oh and the boy and girl were walking when an evil guy came up and tried to stab the boy. But the boy blocked it with his... sword. I just forgot to say he had a sword but he did have a sword. And then the girl flew away because... she could fly. I just forgot to say that too."

The writing in Twilight is about as well written as the writing found on most cereal boxes.

Her grammar sucks, her vampires sparkle, her characters are all flat, Bella is a complete Mary Sue, and the overall plot really didn't have that much substance. Also the whole "unbelievably beautiful vampires" is SO Mary Sue-ish! All in all, a terrible book. I don't understand how that got published. BUT even if I hate that book, I do respect Stephenie Meyer's effort. Writing a book is a very hard thing to do, and the fact that she did it is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. I do hope that she uses a thesaurus and a dictionary (because she did use some words wrong repeatedly) if she ever is going to write another book.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well written? Do you know what a comma splice is? Yeah, well neither does Meyer.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh kinda how you weren't afraid to admit what your name is?
