I have to take my shoes off in dressing rooms everytime, even if I'm only trying on a shirt, just because it feels so weird.

Why would you put your shoes on before you change? I don't wear shoes around the house, so unless i want to run through the hallway naked to get to them I have no way of accessing my shoes before I am fully dressed.

...My shoes are sitting near the back door. I don't change there, I change in my room. So why would I ever be putting on my shoes before my clothes?

You can't say the WHOLE COUNTRY doesn't wear shoes in the house there. Some people don't here, but it's weird to generalize.
