And for the post, it's about the heat of the area vs pigmentation of the skin. That's why when you tan you get darker, hotter the place, darker they are. It's evolution.

I wasn't offended by what was said. Being ignorant just means that you don't know something, but if I sounded like I was being a twat then I apologise. I wasn't trying to start a debate either, I guess I was just surprised that 17hearts had not heard about evolution as even though I've been at Catholic Schools my entire life I have still been taught about the story of Adam and Eve and also evolution. There was no need to start cussing because I wasn't even trying to be rude. I will keep my mouth shut from now on I guess because it is so easy to misintepret what people are saying over the internet. -sorry again.

They weren't white, black is actually the dominant trait so scholars believe they were dark skinned. Jesus was not white either, he was middle eastern. For some reason they always draw or depict them as white.

Adam and Eve were Middle Eastern, and therefore, dark-skinned and NOT white. Skin pigmentation depends on location. As people moved farther north, the need for so much melanin in their skin lessened, so their skin lightened. Microevolution, people.

Who said that Adam and Eve were white? Most likely, as Stepharoo said, they were Middle Eastern and so had more of an olive-colored skin anyway. Once they had children, those people began to migrate to different parts of the Earth, such as Africa, Northern Europe, and America. Over the course of many generations, the environmental conditions began to change the physique of the average person living in that area. Africa, with a lot of exposure to the sun and desert year-round, produced darker-skinned people. Northern Europe, with a colder climate and less desert area, produced fair-skinned people. Diet played a role, too.
