You've learned more usable Spanish from Dora the Explorer than your high school Spanish class. amirite?

Spanish classes teach formal Spanish, FYI. Hardly any Spanish-speaking countries speak formal Spanish anymore-- it's all slang and unformal. So if you were to go to, say, Columbia, they would have difficulties understanding you and vice versa. Hence I said "usable" Spanish. :)

The only thing I remember from 4 years of Spanish was that every year we watched the movie "Selena."

It's funny because it's true.

High school foreign language classes teach you such worthless shit. "Roberto is handsome", or "I would like to buy a postcard." Good stuff. How about something I'll use? Such as, "I'd like a shot of top shelf tequila", or "Do you have chlamydia?"

But that's only because I didn't take Spanish...
by Anonymous13 years ago
That would involve watching that show. Besides, I actually learned quite a bit in school classes.
