Depends..i f some arsonist decides to light a house on fire, then I'll be sorry for the family who needs firemen, but if a guy decides to drink until he needs to be taken to a hospital, well, it's his problem.

I think they take people who don't celebrate the holidays. Like maybe they take non-Christians and non-Jews to work on Christmas/Hanuka, and non-American citizens on Thanksgiving.

No they don't. Usually they just use the rookies, and others take turns.

That's a dick move. They should take the people who don't celebrate the holiday anyway, and it's just another working day for them.

Yeah, it really is. My mom's had to work Christmas before, and my cousin (who just graduated) had to work Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas this year.
