It feels better to get a 90 on a test then it feels to get an 88, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
And it feels even better to get a 100%...
by Anonymous13 years ago
How does this shit get through?
It's like saying, "Duhhh 3 monies is better than 2 monies."
by Anonymous13 years ago
The OP is saying that both marks are considered 'good' and are fairly close together but getting a mark in the 90's apposed to one in the 80's feels more accomplished, even if it's just a 2 percent difference. Of course the higher mark will always be 'better' though.

Kinda like how $0.99 and $1.00 might as well be the same price but it's a fact that things for 99 cents (or that end with .99) sell better.
by Anonymous13 years ago
He's saying the pleasure one feels from getting a 90 is disproportionately greater than the pleasure one feels from getting an 88.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'll concede to that, even though the OP didn't explicitly say it.
by Anonymous13 years ago
No shit.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Than*.
No wonder you got only a 90.
by Anonymous13 years ago
If he uses the wrong form of "than," he deserves far less than a 90%.
by Anonymous13 years ago
What is a 90 in the American grading system? Here it's an A+. Is is less over there?
by Anonymous13 years ago
An A- or a B depending on where you are
by Anonymous13 years ago
Thanks
by Anonymous13 years ago
Dang, you guys aim high.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Where do you live?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Canada.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh. I'd say you were lucky, but considering how easy it is to get good grades in the American education system, I won't.
by Anonymous13 years ago
In my discrete math (math for programmers) class, a 70% was an 'A' last semester, but I'm pulling about a 40% in that class right now. The professor can't make a test worth shit and he grades hard.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yeah, well colleges are different. In American high schools, good grades are easy to get and a 90% is generally an A- or a B+.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I know. I've been in Murka for all my life.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Well... no shit.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Several people have already said this

Why thank you, comment monitor.

Why thank you, comment monitor.
see how it's kinda annoying?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Both are below my expectations so I feel better about an 88 because it makes me feel like I did bad because I genuinely didn't get it, rather than made a bunch of sloppy mistakes. run-on sentence.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Duhh it's 2 points higher! Haha I get what you're saying but its kind of like saying, "getting a gold metal feels better than getting a silver metal." obviously it does, because it's better.
by Anonymous13 years ago
And obviously we would all agree. No one thinks getting an 88 feels better.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Getting a 69 would feel disproportionately better than getting a 68. STUPID EVIL CALC TEACHER.
