It's a turn off when someone judges you based on your favorite music.

This isn't to say there's anything wrong with rap or liking rap- it's just about the impression. For some reason, it's much more attractive if a guy tells me they're into, for instance, classic rock, than if they say they're into rap. Same thing with rave music. Also a turn off.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It works the same way the other way around.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You can't really say rap in general you either have to specify artists or what the songs are talking about

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My boyfriend listens to boy bands... I don't have this problem.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't like rap, but I'm not going to judge anyone for their music tastes. If he said he'd *only* listen to rap, and never try anything else, then yeah, but it'd be the same if he said any genre. I'd just try to broaden his musical tastes.

I love Rap. I'd judge if I asked someone what their favorite music is and they said "Nirvana, ACDC, Guns n Roses" etc. because people who say that's their favorite kind of music generally dislike EVERY other type of music. Pretentious assholes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It depends. 90's rap or 00's rap? Huge difference.
