The only pet's I would buy from a pet store are like rodents or small animals like that since they aren't as common in rescue centers.

i'm so happy this is in the negitives. pet stores get their animals from pet mills and it's just so sad how so many people buy from pet stores without realizing where their pet came from. Adoption is the way to go!

Not the pet store in my town. They get their animals from individuals. Well, the puppies and kittens at least, I'm not sure about the rodents, reptiles, and fish.

I grow them from the ground.

Well, I got my flying squirrels from a breeder. They don't really have those in pet stores...
My ACD also came from a breeder.

Every animal I've ever owned has been a stray or just unwanted. Bunch of lucky bastards.

I got my dog from an Amish dairy farm in New York. No jokes.

Dog was from a pet store, mainly because it's difficult to find dachshunds elswhere. Our cat was a rescure kitten, though.

Really? People in my town are all the time selling dachshunds.

Seriously? Imma move to your town.

I've adopted all of my animals I've ever had (with the exception of my pitbull, which a friend gave to us, and my french bulldog, which we stole from my mom's ex-boyfriend because he abused her.)
I even adopted my hamsters.

Fish and stuff I get from the store, but three of the four dogs I've had were from shelters and the other we found running around in the middle of the highway :P

We got my dog from an individual, my mom's cat from a yardsale, rescued my dad's dog from a neglectful situation, and got my cat from a friend of someone I used to work with.

Don't the animals in pet stores deserve homes also?
