+172 As a culture, we haven't really gotten better about racism. We've just got more immune to it and more discreet about it, amirite?

Is that not better?

No, but if you get more immune to cancer does that mean it's still as bad?

I mean we're not lynching people anymore so I would say we've improved a little

We have gotten better about racism. I understand the point but saying as society we haven't actually gotten better is crap. My great grandfather saw a big black guy when we went out to dinner and asked who his owner was. The view that they are second class citizens is now a minority view, not majority

Referring to all black people as "they" is singling out a race, and thus comes across as pretty racist, especially considering the bloodline you just told us you come from...

I'm Mexican-Chinese, go fuck yourself. Saying 'they' in reference to black people is definitely not racist. "They tend to have more advantageous childhoods, but do not excel as well in sports." 'They' references white people, and it's not racist at all.

I am Mexican-German, go fuck yourself. And yes that statement is also racist.

Stereotyping is not the same as racist, why won't people understand that? 'Black people like fried chicken.' is not racist, it's a stupid stereotype. 'Black people are inferior to most other races intellectually.' is racist. The word 'they' is not.
