+222 It's kind of hard to imagine what it's like in africa if you've never been there, amirite?

Well it's not that different I can surely tell you that. I live in Africa we're connected to the whole world you know.. so just because you haven't been to Africa doesn't mean it's a whole new different world.. It's just as hard for me to imagine what life is like in America or Asia or whatever..

I thought that Africa is a third-world continent and Who knows how high of a world America is at now.

Third World Continent... 1) That term is out of date, it refers to the communist era and is attached to some really unhelpful preconceptions. LEDC is the "modern term" unfortunately it is not so catchy. 2) The continent is not homogenous, there is a huge difference between different places, and it is very VERY large. South Africa has been called "developed africa" because it resembles the West, whereas North Africa is seen as an extension of the Arabic World. 3) America has one of the worst crime and poverty problems in the world, the largest national debt in human history and a stagnant economy based on products that do not exist (Stock market trading, financial services etc.). I wouldn't be too cocky, others are catching up.

Its exactly the same as the rest of the world, as said above. There are very rich and very poor people here but it is still exactly the same as the UK or America if you go into the capital city of the country you are in and go to the city centre. If its so difficult, google South Africa waterfront or Long street and check it out

South Africa is not very different from countries like the US, UK, or Australia.

It all depends where you go. Some countries are still very tribal and look like the villages you would see on movies but other countries like Egypt, Morroco, South Africa, Namibia etc are very similar to Australia, NZ, UK and parts of the USA.

I live in South Africa and I've been to the UK and honestly, it's mostly the same with few differences.

This is surely true of anywhere on Earth. Africa is not the only place with a large amount of poverty, nor is it exclusively poor. It is not homogenous, regions vary hugely, some are incredibly bountiful, other completely barren. One thing that is relatively homogenous is the way that we (western civilisation) have used the continent throughout history, raping it of its resources, oppressing it's people and now-days crippling economies by using tariff warfare against them.
