+440 Humans establish these "standards" for each person, and if they somehow don't follow them then they think they've got to fix them! Counselor: "Oh, what's that, quiet person? You're eating lunch alone and not sitting next to annoying gossiping classmates like every teenager does? That can't happen! Hey, neighboring kids! Come meet [name] he's new here.", amirite?

I remember in middle school I was called in to the office and they told me that I should be in a "special social interaction" class. I didn't have any friends so I think that mightve made them do that, lol.

They're thiiiis close to putting introversion in the next edition of the DSM (never mind that it fits none of the criteria for being a psychological disorder, they'll find a way).

Went through that my whole life. What they don't seem to realize is that trying to force something upon a child, the less likely a child is to do that. There's this old guy at my Skool who keeps trying to get me to smile, so I've resorted to walking around the cafeteria until he leaves...

I let a person tell and show who they are. It could be my own experiences that drive my need to be compassionate and understanding, and most especially forgiving those whom have wronged me. I guess I have had to say sorry often enough for not meeting the expectations of others, but really, that is their problem, not mine. Sorry to those that I cannot be who you want me to be, I am only me; nothing more, nothing less.
