any person that has hurt or killed a dog should be in prison for life, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
What about a person who hurts another person, should they go to prison for life too?
by Anonymous13 years ago
yes
by Anonymous13 years ago
Isn't that a little extreme? Wouldn't a much more rational sentence be community service, or a fine?
by Anonymous13 years ago
no faggot
by Anonymous13 years ago
No need to be rude
by Anonymous13 years ago
There's no room on amirite for people who can't debate with manners and dignity when a point is made. We already have enough trolls and rude people on here.
by Anonymous13 years ago
you should be ashamed u just said that
by Anonymous13 years ago
I can't talk to you any longer, goodbye.
by Anonymous13 years ago
What if the dog is an attack dog and a person just doesn't like you, so they get their dog to attack you and you kick it so that you can get away?
by Anonymous13 years ago
good statement, that would be fine to protect themselves but if a person hurt an innocent dog they should be put in jail
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'll agree that it's wrong to beat a dog intentionally, or kill one (any animal, really [one not being killed for a purpose such as food]). But it's just too general of a statement to say "anyone who has hurt or killed a dog."
by Anonymous13 years ago
well i am brand new to amirite so i guess i will be less general with my future statements, thanks for the advice
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yeah, people tend to break a post down to it's most basic statement at times.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I agree that intentionally hurting or killing an animal is COMPLETELY screwed up, but you have to realize that humans are more valuable as lives than dogs. True, a dog cannot defend itself, but a lifetime prison sentence is over the top. For the murder of a dog or other pet, a more rational sentence would be anywhere between 3-8 years.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Who are you to say which life is more valuable?
by Anonymous13 years ago
All life is valuable, but humans have a lot more potential than dogs.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Really? Because the earth has never seen such destruction as humans have caused. I think "value" is relative.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Not value to earth, but value to the human population. I was making a point.
by Anonymous13 years ago
And dogs have value to dog populations. Value is subjective.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yes, value is relative. To each species, their own species' life is more valuable than any other. Being the human race, we value human lives far more than animal lives and make laws accordingly.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You do realize that humans, being much more capable of thought and empathy, can be much more valuable to all life than any dog can? If you and your dog were being chased by a bear, the dog wouldn't think twice about running as the bear busies himself with you. Not that it's the dogs fault, but humans still are more valuable than dogs
by Anonymous13 years ago
there have been cases where a dog would fight a grizzly bear to protect it's owner. in which case the dog would be far more valuable than a person who kills or injures dogs for profit or entertainment.
by Anonymous13 years ago
by 'person,' I don't mean an animal abuser; if you read the original comment, i was saying that a person's life is more valuable (potentially, i guess i should say) than a dogs.
A person who injures or kills dogs for profit or entertainment is doing nothing for anyone, and should face consequences for the horrible act.
And yes, such a person is not as valuable as a life as a dogs,
except in some extreme and irrational case that may potentially come up as a reply of this comment, like "If the person was killing the dog to save a bunch of other people..."
by Anonymous13 years ago
What if you accidentally run one over?
by Anonymous13 years ago
i would say intentionally injure or kill. people like michael vick, who held dogfights or stupid people who (this is a true story, the dog was rescued from the pound by a burn victim, and became a therapy dog in a hospital nearby) pour gasoline on a stray dog, and light it on fire.
by Anonymous13 years ago
so if i accidentally step on my dogs foot i should be in jail for life? ouch
by Anonymous13 years ago
no accidents are accidents
by Anonymous13 years ago
so if I accidently shoot my dog in the face, should I go to jail? k
