yes! art is a state of mind. when we allow our souls to get lost within it, perhaps we're closer to the Reality of Life than we were before! :)

i think life is only as much reality as you let it be. you can make your life a beautiful dream, or a horrible nightmare. dreams last as long as you let them, good or bad. but, dreams break and shatter. does this mean a dreamer would break and shatter too? i hope not.

no, the art exists to keep that dreamer alive, perhaps not even in the artist themselves anymore...but somewhere, somehow, a dreamer thrives off of the dream trapped in that piece. creating art probably only further drives the artist into their certain perspective. and none of us know reality 24/7. can we ever find Reality? i fear the answer is so vast and unfathomable that it's unattainable.

i completely agree with what you said, but do we want reality? i think that art is not just an escape from reality, but an escape into understanding it. no one really understands why things happen the way they do, but art has a creative way of showing things the way they really happen.

agreed, i think we truly don't want reality. i don't think art is necessarily an escape from reality...merely an acceptance of our own distorted view of it, and instead of pursuing reality we pursue this version of it further. so i guess instead of showing what really happens, art displays another perspective of what happens. :)

it is quite amazing how everyone sees art differently, i think art is indefinable. the mind can make a heaven of hell and a hell of heaven. but, when we make art, we are drawing the things that are in our deepest soul, the things we care most about. is that not the things we dream about?

im kinda dyslexic hahaha.... but yeah, i love chalk- it is like normal drawing except in color, and the color is much more vibrant than colored pencils. i don't know yet what i want to do with my teenage years, i just don't want to waste them being lazy. i need to figure out what god wants me to do. i think he wants me to be a writer, but i don't know what to write. i guess i have to pray about that, eh? as for your profile, i thought you were a talking zebrafish... i love the name Lucy. Monet and Roman would be really cool, unique names. i used to want the name Strawberry lol. me, i absolutely adore the name Oliver. or Olive :) names are everything. but i feel as though over time, you give whatever name you're given your own personality anyway. even though i love a lot of different names, i couldn't ever give mine up i guess :P
