+275 It's funny how America kidnapped the unwilling Africans but is now desperate to keep the willing and miserable Mexicans out, amirite?

Get off your high horse. The US wasn't the only country with slaves and isn't the only country that wants to keep illegal immigrants out.

Oh sorry I see what you mean now. We weren't the first ones to have slaves, therefore it's okay.

Well, it wasn't "Americans" who originally captured the Africans, that was the Europeans...

ono The Africans were the ones who sold other Africans to be slaves.

You disagree?

i'm sure it's not impossible that Africans sold other Africans, but i'm sure it's not impossible a good half or more of it was just kidnapping. and even if the slaves WERE bought, that doesn't make it right. I think someone buying a child prostitute and someone kidnapping a child to molest will get the same sentence.

So my history book is wrong? And I'm not saying they weren't kidnapped, the Africans kidnapped the other Africans and sold them to other people. I'm not saying it wasn't horrible and wrong, I'm just pointing out that white people aren't evil because they just went to Africa and stole people; which isn't true. They bought them (but it's still wrong)

Also, only 5% of African slaves went to The U.S. Around 80% went to Brazil and islands in the Caribean.

You live in Texas, do you not? Texan school boards are modifying their History textbooks in order to make the conservatives/confederates look good, if you haven't heard. http://trueslant.com/allisonkilkenny/2010/03/19/texas-whitewashing-is-latest-stage-of-textbook-wars/
