+206 academic intelligence gets much more credit than social intelligence, when both are at the same level of importance. amirite?

They're both important, but equal? No. Social intelligence wont decide your quality of life.

Well it sort of could... It would suck to be smart but terrible socially, and it would also be bad to have lots of friends but very little intelligence. If social intelligence = ability to make friends/interact with people, then it kinda does decide your quality of life, because it's not fun to be successful with no friends. :/ (At least I think so)

I definitely have to disagree with you, I know plenty of college graduates with GOOD grades who can't find a job, just because they bomb interviews or something. I also know a lot of college graduates who find a job and are stuck in it (without promotions) for years. In order to move up in the world, you definitely have to be able to play the game well

Read Death of a Salesman then tell me that again.

Social intelligence doesn't save lives and make possible the technology driven world that we live in today. Yes it is important to have a bit of social intelligence but social intelligence alone doesn't hold a candle to academic intelligence. If the world were left to socially intelligent people we would be a bunch of clever cavemen who know only how to survive and not change the world they live in.
