A few years ago a kindergartener wore a shirt to school saying homosexuality is a sin, Muslims are terrorists, and abortion is murder. When the school asked him to change, his parents sued the school, claiming that under the freedom of religion they could wear it, even if it was hate speech (illegal). They won the case. It's absolutely rediculous.

I know it's legal for everyone to practice whatever religion you want in the US, but as far as I'm concerned, most people read that as 'practice any religion you want AS LONG AS IT'S CHRISTIANITY!' My boyfriend is Jewish and he's constantly getting shit for it. It's ridiculous.
