indubitably... some days i look around and think im in clown school or something. im not a prick, but no one takes school seriously enough. no wonder why adults worry about the next generation! no one has great expectations for us because we fail to accept them when given to us.

i wrote this in my post yesterday: im done with lowering my standards i have for myself. i will no longer live below my ability level, and im done with the low expectations adults assume we need. teenagers have a lot of talent, and im sick of wasting mine. it's time for me to thrive and use my life for something. it's time to live & set my talents free (: it's never too soon to shift out of shapeless idleness, run from the past, and finally fall into the comfort of new chances. i want to use my teenage years as years in which i use to launch the rest of my life. as many teens waste this time, i want to be striving & becoming the me i want to be. the most valuble years of my life won't be wasted, opportunities will not be lost. i have broken free of the lies holding me down, the chains that low expectations have wrapped around my own self are gone. im free to thrive, free to be me.

im just sick of being held inside a box. adults think all teenagers are only concerned with texting, computers, and boyfriends. that is NOT true. some of us want to do something with our teenage years, instead of wasting them. did you know that the word teenager wasn't even invented until the 1900's? before that a person like us would be working, and using their abilities for the common good. why did that have to change? does anybody really enjoy being held captive in the ruts of low expectations? does anyone enjoy having people assume that they CANT do something, just because of age?

actually youre wrong about the 1990s part. The earliest known published use of the word was in 1941 in Popular Science Monthly, but Auden used the word shortly thereafter (in 1947) so it was probably used in the U.S. much earlier, perhaps the 30s. Get your facts right.

i like how you totally ignored all the rest of the post, and the 1930's are STILL part of the nineteen hundreds!!
