every time I see an incorrect use of the word ironic, such as this post, I die a little in side.

every time I see someone put an unnecessary space in the middle of "inside" I die a little on the inside. Oh wait, no I don't because I honestly don't give a fuck and neither should you.

fine "inside", my bad. but the fact is it only bothers me because so many people make this stupid mistake. it would be ironic if the book were called "boosting self-esteem for confident people"

I understand what you're coming from, but a lot of the common usage of words like "ironic" has become really loose, for the lack of a better word, these days, and street definitions change. Although if this was a formal thing, that would be something to care about.

How isn't it ironic? You wouldn't expect a book on building self-esteem to call the reader a 'dummy.'
