+359 Irony – Christians who are prejudiced against Middle Eastern people, despite the fact that Jesus was from the Middle East, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Before flaming – post isn’t about the majority of Christians who aren’t prejudiced, so you don’t need to post “Not all Christians think like that” or anything. Just pointing out the hypocrisy of people who dislike anyone with a Middle Eastern or Arab appearance, yet worship a man born and raised in the Middle East as their lord and saviour. And, yeah, before anyone else says it, Middle Eastern doesn’t equal Muslim, and Muslim doesn’t equal Middle Eastern. And prejudice against the Islam faith is just as retarded.

I find it quite funny when people say that they don't like Muslims and Allah, when they worship the Christian god (which is the exact same god as Allah, just with a different name). It's like, learn your own fucking faith first. Islam, Judaism and Christianity = Same god!

I take AP human geography at my school and we just got off the unit of religion. We went in depth on most of the major universalizing and ethnic religions, and after that unit, I have this new respect for many religions. Most of these followers (take Muslims for an example) are so disciplined in their practice, it's hard not to appreciate them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm taking a religion course now and we just did a unit on Buddhism, Hinduism, and Taoism now we're on to Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. It's all super interesting to me, and it makes me realize how uninformed SO many people are.

Oh I KNOW! Sticking with the topic of the post, I once was talking to one of those "I LUV MAH GAWD ND JESUS" girls, and we got on the topic on how different people percieve Jesus. She said "OH MY GOD we ALL know that Jesus was white, right?" So I responded with "No, actually, Jesus was Jewish and he was actually from the Middle East. Might wanna brush up on your Bible Study."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ha, I have to admit, I was kinda shocked when I first found out the three faiths worshipped the same deity. But, it sorta fits in together, as all three religions - Judaism, Islam, Christianity, all originated from, you guessed it, the Middle East.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yup. From what I understand, they all sorta came from Judaism.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That reminds me of a Church sign that was outside a Christian church in Florida that said "God loves, Allah hates"... They're the same entity silly people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

First of all, Christians and Jews have the same God... Secondly, what makes you say that God and Allah are the same?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Allah means God but in a different language. They're the same.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, I will say that in Arabic "Allah" is literally translated to "The God", but that is the worst argument for God and Allah are the same deity.

Here, http://www.religionfacts.com/islam/comparison_charts/islam_judaism_christianity.htm Read through this, it'll make more sense than how I can explain it. I just don't feel like getting out my Religion notes.

Ok, let's take a look at this. 1. Type of theism: Muslims believe that Allah is the only God, and DID NOT have a son. Christians believe that Jesus is the SON OF GOD 2. Death of Jesus: Islam says that he DID NOT DIE. But, the Bible says that when Jesus was pierced in the side, blood and water pour out. We now know that when the heart is struck, both water and blood come out. 3. Resurrection of Jesus: Islam believes that since Jesus didn't die, He was taken into heaven. Christianity says that Jesus dies and He arose from the grave 3 days later 4. Human nature (through extended research by myself): Islam believes that humans are born innocent. Christianity believes that humans are born with sin, due to the Fall of Adam. 5. How to attain Salvation: Islam believes correct belief, good deeds, and following the Five Pillars gets you into heaven. Christianity believes that salvation is attained ONLY through believing with your heart and saying with your mouth

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that Jesus is the Son of God, He died for our sins, and arose from death 3 days later. 6. The Bible teaches that God says to "love your enemies and neighbors as you love yourself." The Qu'ran teaches that Allah says to kill the infidels who do not believe the same as you. So why would the same God deceive his believers? Allah and God are definitely not the same. Oh, and here's some tables for you. http://creation.com/the-koran-qur-an-vs-genesis

None of that had to do with god. It all had to do with Jesus (who each religion believe did exist, what/who he was is different). The religions stemmed from Judaism, and are all based on the Torah. It's the same god, but different religions.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think you saw the other comment I made... Look right up above yours.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I read it. It's still a fact that Allah and God are the same deity. They're worshiped in different ways under different names with different religions. They're still the same god from the same books that each religion is based on.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So, what you're saying is that the same God would tell 1 group of people to love everyone, no matter who they are, and tell another group to kill people who are infidels?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No. It's different interpretations of the same god, though. All three religions are based on the Torah.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Of course they are going to have different beliefs in the religions. They are different religions, that's true. HOWEVER, the religions are synonymous to being cousins of each other. Say I'm Christianity, my dad has a brother who had a son, Islam, and my mother has a sister who had a daughter, Judaism. We would all be related, but we are all different.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It would be more like Judaism's dad had a brother who had a son, etc. I never said they were the same. The religions are different. They still follow the exact same god.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Eh, I like my explanation better

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Although yours is more correct

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nothing you said is really wrong, it's just a fact that it's all the same god...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Which is what I was trying to get at

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But you were saying they worship different gods. Which isn't true...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Guess I was a little unclear, and for that I apologize, but I was trying to get at the fact are all related because they worship the same god. I'm just bad at explaining things

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ah, I thought you were saying that it was different gods. Haha oh well, it's all good now!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Because Allah is God. Islam comes from the same origins as Christianity and Judaism. They all involve the Torah and the same God.

http://www.cracked.com/article_18911_5-ridiculous-things-you-probably-believe-about-islam.html Depending on how valid you think Cracked articles are, this is interesting. But, they back these quotes up with Census information, not opinion articles: "Only about 20 percent of the entire world's Muslim population is Arab or North African. For comparison, about 22 percent of the global Christian population is African, yet when somebody says "Christian," you don't immediately picture a dude from Africa. Equating "Muslim" with "Arab" makes just as much sense." "For example, if you think being Arab guarantees you being Muslim these days, well, we are sorry to disappoint. As much as 10 percent of the world's Arab population is Christian (that's more than 14 million people). That means there are 1 million more Arab Christians than, oh, we don't know ... the world's entire Jewish population.."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

All 3 major religions (Christianity, Islam, and Judaism) all split off from Abraham who as the OP said, came from the Middle East.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its also annoying when some Christians say "God hates fags" when Christians should know God doesn't hate anybody.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They're not real Christians. They call themselves that but they're just self-righteous.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's also ironic that Judaism, Islam, and christanity all stemmed from the same thing. You can literally trace it all back to one single point

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Please explain that to fonziekj52, who doesn't believe me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In Confirmation class, we just learned that Islam branched off when Abraham took a son to the top of the mountain. Islam says he took one, but Christianity says he took the other
