+85 How come birds that sit on wires never get electricuted amirite?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Because, the electricity doesnt have an "out" point if the bird just sits on it. If the wire were to snap in between the bird, it would become fried chicken, or if the bird was big enough to touch the ground at the same time, Fried chicken again. Electricity naturally takes the quickest path it can from point A to point B. Bird sitting on a wire, not fast. At least that's what I remember from physics.

Correct. Also if the bird touched two wires it'd be dead.

The birds legs can pass an electric current through them.. Weird, I know.

If i'm not mistaken, a bird also becomes property of the Colonel if it lands on the wire with one foot first. They have to land with both feet touching at the same time to complete the circuit.

really? i thought it could conduct enough electricity to stay alive, at least until the other foot touches. you can't be that exact easily

Because the bird has more resistance than the wire, and electricity always takes the past of least resistance.

Lol it's because there is a covering on the wire... And yes I know this post is old.
