+237 you hope to be as good a person as your parents are when you have a family of your own, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Or the opposite. If your parents were horrible, youll do everything you can to not be like them. Either way, you learn from them.

i hope i'll be able to cook like my momma

From what I can gather, other than providing me with food, shelter, clothing and life, my parents serve only to make themselves look bad. I tell other people about what they say and it's hilariously bad.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nope because my parents fucking sucked.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

my moms an alchoholic and a drug addict. let's hope.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm thankfull for them providing for me, but I aim to be 1000x better than them. They are so biased, ignorant and narrowminded, I can't even put it into words my frustration towards them

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My parents are like that too, and they expect me to agree with them and when i dont, its all of a sudden extremely disrespectful. I DO respect them, just not the way they think of things.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i agree with both of you, but that's because they were brought up with that narrowminded...ness. which means the next generation will be even more openminded, and we as parents will be considered the narrowminded ones.

You mean put crazy pressure on my kids and have no trust in them to where they're not allowed to hang out with friends because they should be studying in that time? No fucking way.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My mom? Sure. My dad? No.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's kinda like my situation, actually. My mom isn't that bad compared to my dad.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I love both my parents, of course. But my dad tends to drive me insane with his pushiness and judgments. That is, when he's around. My mom is the one who has always been there.

We should all strive to be better than our parents, that's what any good parent would want from their kids. To improve beyond their capability, because times change and get harder, you won't be able to face the situations of life, using the techniques of yesterday. You have to use the lessons of yesterday to solve the problems of tomorrow ;] Words of wisdom from yours truly

You, sir, have opened my eyes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago
