Most people don't like it when an artist sells out to become popular because their music changes. Just saying.

sometimes..but not really

Actually, most of the time, people only stop liking someone when they become famous because both their music and personality change. Not because everyone knows about them.

If the underground artists I like become famous, that would be truly amazing. I may want to tell people that I was part of the listening audience that made them famous, and I may recommend that people listen to the older stuff they produced, but I would never try to claim my superiority to everyone else or start hating the group/artist unless they drastically, and I mean drastically, change their style to the point where I lose all respect for them. Also, an artist's personality and music changes as time goes on. That is a given. I like observing these progressions over time.
