+245 No present says "thoughtfulness" like a gift card, amirite?

All in all, it's not a bad gift. Yeah, it's kinda saying "I don't know you" but at least they admit they had no clue what you wanted. And, buying one to your favourite store, or an online giftcard can be a decent present. My parents gave me a preloaded giftcard for my birthday, that I used to pay off some bills.

Yeah, I guess so. It's just a bit repetitive when you get the same gift cards from nearly everybody every year. Last week I got a gift card from my grandparents exactly in between my birthday and Christmas, which left me really confused and was the inspiration for this post.

Yeah, I can see that it can get boring. But, not to sound like an grateful brat, but parents and grandparents often do buy gifts that you can never imagine wearing/using/whatever, so at least you can use a giftcard. Also, if you have a lot of siblings or cousins, it's easier for grandparents to buy giftcards for them all. I'm thinking if it's not just old-age forgetfulness, then that's probably why you got a giftcard in between holidays.
