+400 You're not sure what it means to, "get over urself," but according to every preteen girl you've come into contact with, you apparently need to do it, amirite?

As much as teenage girls misuse that term, it is something that a lot of people need to do

I've heard it used so much in such different contexts, I'm really not even positive what it means anymore, I kid you not. :|

Let's say you're sitting at a restaurant minding your own business when all the sudden, something CATCHES your eye. You can't help but stare at it! And while you sit there gazing at this wondrous thing a hand comes across and slaps you. You shocked (of course) look up to a girl telling you to stop staring at her. SHE needs to get over herself, because what you were staring at was not in fact the girl, but the sign above her head that slightly resembled your penis....

I don't think I've ever been told to get over myself,

Sounds to me like they believe you've been dating yourself, broke up, and henceforth need to 'get over urself.'

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, you wouldn't have been dating yourself. You would have been dating urself.

Oh yes, of course.

It means they want someone to see past themselves, and are accusing said person of being arrogant and insensitive. It's greatly misused though, and those girls who say are the ones who need to get over themselves
