+551 Since when is it socially acceptable to text other people while you have a guest over? It's actaully kinda rude, amirite?

Or when you're a guest at someone elses house it's like saying "Oh, you invited me over but you're too boring to talk to I'll just text my other friends."

Yeah. It's even worse when the person texting is inviting the person that they're talking to over. It's like, could you be anymore rude? Glad to know you've got someone coming over here after me that won't bore you as badly.

its like, i might as well have stayed home so we could be texting and actually be talking.

That's why I love that my house hardly has reception. It stops them from texting and only I know where the hot spots are.

I hate it when I invite a friend over and they spend the whole time on their phone. It's like hello, why did you come over if you aren't going to do anything but text someone else?

I don't mind if we're watching a movie or doing homework or something, or if there's a big group and they text while other people are talking to each other. It's only annoying if you're talking and they're not listening to you.

Correction: It's extremely rude. To me, It's one of the most annoying things someone can do when they're with you.

Ugh i hate that. My one friend ALWAYS does that.

Same here. This particular friends behavior when texting prompted me to post this. She's always texting her boyfriend. And when I'm staying the night she always thinks it would be "so fun" to call him up at 1:00 am and "annoy him." It's actually a bit insulting to my intelligence because she thinks by saying that annoying him is a fun activity, that we should call him, when it's really just an excuse for her to call him.

Yea... I'll admit, I've done it before, but I would never do it the entire time I'm with someone.

Oh my god, went to dinner/show with my dad, his friend and her son. Her son was texting/facebook the WHOLE time. It's so rude!! I hate it

My one friend texted the entire 9 hour ride home from vacation that SHE invited me to and said about 3 sentences to me the whole ride i was so mad.

It's not that bad if there's a group of people, but when it's just you and someone else, neither of you better be texting. It's one of my pet peeves.
