But it really isn't an external force, is it? The force of your own breath/whatever going forth from you brings you forth with it, while the effect of it brings you slightly back - it's not like you sneeze and your head stays forward. And, more like it merely proves the first law of inertia.

No, you're treating a sneeze like a gunshot. It's more like throwing a baseball. The only reason the sneeze happens is because you go forward; your muscles contract as quickly as possible in conjunction with breathing out in order to forcefully clear out your sinuses.
