2n^2

No, that would be 2n multiplied by n. Not 2n plus 2n.

Its a pun. 4n is "foreign"
by Anonymous12 years ago
Oh.
OH!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, NOW it's funny :)

Hahaha there ya go :P

its absolutely correct :D. You can add numbers with the same variables(letters beside the number).
so, 2n + 2f would be different, but 2n + 2n= 4n. those saying it would have been correct if you would have multiplied it is also correct. its like 2 + 2= 4 and 2 X 2 is also = 4.
and yes, you are a lucky bastard.

I think most people on here know 6th grade math. But obviously you don't, since 2n•2n is 2n^2.

I feel like it would have funnier as "2n+3n is 4n to me." You know, because she's bad at math.

I think it would have been funnier if she said 2n+2b=4nb because she isnt trying to look stupid, she knows first grade math, but I think she meant she is bad at algebra :/ idk

Technically, "2n+2n" is an expression, not an equation. However, if you put "2n+2n=4n" it would be an equation. I still understand the joke, even though it had to be explained to me, unfortunately.
