+416 When you have a baby, you will not give them a name that they will be embarrassed of when they are older. Sure, the trend now is for unique names, but the line separating unique from abstract is pretty fine, amirite?

"I'm gonna name my kid Anus!" = "I won't have any grandchildren!"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There are plenty of names that are unique, but not so uncommon that they're weird. I would never name my kid something that sounded like I made it up on the spot haha.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I suppose it you really want to be a SUPA SPESHAL SNOWFLAKE, give them a normal first name and a "unique" middle name. Then, when the kid is old enough, if they want to, they can go by their middle name.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Im going to call my kid unique, so it will be fun introducing them to people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Or "Special": "Hey everyone! This is my daughter, Megan, and this is my son. He's Special."

I know a girl named Unique, her sister's name is Precious.

I know a girl named Shy. "Hi, I'm Shy." Needless to say, she hates introductions.

I told my mom (who is pregnant) that she should name it (if it's a girl) "Vienna." She said she liked it. Then she changed it to "Viana." Then she changed it to, "Viviana." Then she changed it to "Veveanna" and now it's "Kya." .......

I'm content with my name. Not too common, but common enough. I would hate to have an overly common name. There are 8 Rachels in my grade of 250...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm Rachel, too! :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My name is Sarah, which is the most popular name for middle class white girls born in the 1990's. I am a middle class white girl born in the 1990's...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I LOVE my unique name :) I've never met anyone else by the name of Indigo! It's awesome!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've read a book called "The Fortunes of Indigo Skye". Exactly like your name, that's so crazy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've read that book too! That's where I got the "skye" from! I thought it sounded really pretty together :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I like Hayden and Jeffrey.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just don't spell them strangely, i.e. "Haydyn" or "Gephry" like some parents seem to think is just so cool to do...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually I was thinking about spelling "Hayden" as "Heydaen" and Jeffrey as "Gephr1e". Guess I won't now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm going to give my kids somewhat uncommon but regular first names, then their middle names are gonna be weird. it's gonna be like Alice Moonbeam, or maybe Jimi Raincloud. it's gonna fuckin rock

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know a girl named Charlotte Webb. Teehee.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't many Juliettes, actually. I kinda like my name, it's not overly common, but not weird.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Meh, I like my name and it's unusual, but I wouldn't want to give my kids an awful name.
