Same thing with kissing, sex, etc.

Truee but you usually see kissing on tv and hear about sex before you do it.

Yeah but you still don't REALLY know what to do but you figure it out anyway.

Unless you don't even know what masturbating is, but somehow you just figure it out. Which would be what happened in my case.

Masturbation starts off by simply scratching an itch. The high concentration of nerves in the penis, even more concentrated in the clitoris, attract a child’s attention from an early age. And when they do rub at that irritation, they find the sensation to be pleasant. Girls, when out of nappies, often go to sleep with a cuddly toy, or other object, clenched between their thighs, pressed against their clitoris. This pressing results eventually in an orgasm, something we experience long before boys do, as the penis is nowhere near as sensitive to this type of stimulation. Boys rarely experience a full orgasm before puberty, when testosterone kicks in, even though they will fiddle with it continually throughout childhood. Girls don’t find masturbating to be weird as, to us, it’s always just been a lovely way to drift off to sleep.
