+338 You dislike people who brag about their diverse or eclectic music tastes, as if the concept of listening to a variety of different music genres is unique only to them, amirite?

In my opinion, people with general tastes in music are either d-bags, or they are too lazy or incompetent to distinguish their opinions from the opinions of the masses.

(Chauncy Pickles): I disagree, in that music isn't important to many people - they're just happy listening to whatever's on the radio, or playing on a stereo. The whole "I listen to everything" meaning "I listen to whatever the radio plays" is annoying though. I was more talking about people who claim to listen to everything, and think that separates them from the herd - I reckon most people would listen to a variety, even if the different genres they like are linked (say, different types of 80's pop and rock), or they only listen to select artists outside their preferred genres (like, most people at punk shows I used to go to liked different punk rock genres, but also liked Johnny Cash without being a fan of other country artists).

That is completely reasonable.

A really annoying thing is when you like different genres of music and other people think you only listen to one type and think it's sort of "not right" or "weird" or act completely shocked based on the way you dress or look.

It's annoying when you show your friend a song that you like and they call you weird because it's not played on the radio or whatever
