+433 If a slut drank Polyjuice potion with the hair of a virgin, would she be a virgin for an hour? Or what if someone used the hair of someone with a pacemaker? Would they sprout a pacemaker in their chest, or does the potion only work on organic material? Food for thought, amirite?

I think the potion only changes your outside appearence and nothing internally.

What if they're a different height? Or a different gender? Wow, I'm going to have to think about this one.

The potion changes you to the exact replica of the person you are copying. The idea of becoming a virgin may not be true because you keep your memories and experience of your own life, you dont gain the experiences or in this case the inexperiences of the person you are copying. p.s. If you watch the first part of the deathly hollows itll explain your height n gender question

I watched the Dealthy Hallow three times. ;) I get how it changes on the outside, but what's happening on the inside?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's magic.

I think if you were a female virgin your hymen would uh... gee I can't think of a good word for this. It would contract..?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I believe the word you're looking for is "regenerate". Unless you mean a virgin taking the hair of a non-virgin, then the word would be "deteriorate"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes. That's the word. :b

In the Goblet of Fire, Crouch keeps Moody in the trunk, and stole his fake leg and magical eye, so you appear how the person is without the, er, non-human attatchments

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow, in the last book Harry, Ron, and Hermoine are lucky they didn't steal hair from a muggle with an artificial heart.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh wow you're so right.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It makes you an exact copy of whomever you took the hair from, so techincally, if you're a girl, you would physically be a virgin. Mentally however, you would not be, because you have your memories. But I don't think you would get the non-human aspects of them, like the pacemaker, because it is not a part of them.

Thank you. Your point just helped me solve the other half of the question. A hair contains GENETIC information, therefore it would not contain any information on pacemakers, prosthetics, implants or the like for the potion to replicate, so you are correct.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So if you drank to potion of a girl who had implants, would your boobs go to the size of hers with or without the implants?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ha! I actually thought of that. I think you'd most likely have two weird looking flaps on your chest due to the unnaturally expanded skin of the breast being replicated, but not the implant.

gross

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh. I read that as "half a virgin." She was half a virgin when she met him...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is such an interesting thing, like i seriously have no idea...but i don't think JK really put THAT much thought into it, its a potion that changes you into an exact copy of the person, thats the important thing. when you think about it, when they change into the other people, the makeup is exactly the same, (hermione turning into the lady from the ministry in deathly hallows pt 1) thats not genetic

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hermione could have had makeup on before she changed that would have stayed on. Or she just went into the minstry with no makeup on.

What if you take the hair of someone who's pregnant? Would a fetus grow inside you, or would you just not be pregnant? What if the person you took the hair from was about to go into birth when you take the potion, would you also start to go into birth? Weird to think about.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you take the hair of a child and then wait ten years to use it in the potion, would you turn into the child or the grown-up? Genetic material stays exactly the same throughout your life.
