My literature teacher told our class when a girl was absent "Oh yeah, Becca's grandmother died, she's going to the funeral!" We were all shocked she would go and tell the whole class that.

That's happened to this kid in seventh grade. He was gone for a week, and when people starting asking where he is, the teacher was like, "His dad just died of cancer, so he's in Oregon for the funeral." D:
