I think they are more honest than selfish. I find it hard to have genuine feelings about most people. It is possible, but really takes character honing

What if some disabled kid learned how to walk, or speak, or something.. You wouldn't feel happy for them?

I dunno, honestly. Most will immediatley reject that statement. But then you do a double take. Sure, you'd feel happy for someone if they learned to walk or talk. But is it only because you /want/ to feel like you're a good person for feeling genuinely caring? Is it only because they're succeeding in something you take for granted, so there's no sense of jealousy for their managing something you already can do? Kind of awful questions, I know. But maybe true.
