I once decided I wasn't gonna be attracted to this really hot, smart, and friendly girl despite the fact that she bought me coffee and took me out to dinner because having a crush on her was too mainstream. True story. I'm the worst kind of hipster.

Today one of my friends was going off about how she wanted to meet a guy who worked in a coffee shop and played acoustic guitar, and I was thinking to myself "Ugh, EVERYBODY plays guitar, how uncreative." That was my hipster moment of the day. But I mean come on. I've got a point, right?

one time i went to a small coffeeshop that sells only fair trade coffee & vegan cookies to hear a small indie band from cleveland perform. when i told my friends about it they were like "what band?" & i was like "oh, they're a really small band, you've probably never heard of them." ...i was so ashamed.
