+13 What I don't get is why it makes a difference when you ask for someone's food and they protect it and say, "It's my last one!" Because you could've taken it before, and you would still be one piece of food short, amirite?

If I someone told be to run a mile, and when I finished they told me to do a second one, that would be much worse than if they had just told me to do two miles.

Personally I think it's because you look forward to the last bit of food- you take more time to savor and appreciate it. If someone took my last piece of say, pizza, I'd be bummed because I hadn't known the current slice I was eating was the last dose of deliciousness I'd get. Sorry if this didn't make sense :/

What the two said, and the ratio. When I get food, I subconsciously form a ration of what I want to eat. For example, if I have more rice than meat, I'll eat tiny bits of meat with whole spoons of rice so I have one piece of meat left over which I can eat by itself. If someone took food before I'm 50% done, I can still alter my ratio to enjoy the rest properly. But if someone takes the by itself piece, then that's the last action they ever do, if I was eating with a knife.
