Wikipedia: The only way anyone passes any class involving a research paper. amirite?
by Anonymous14 years ago
our entire school system's not allowed to use Wikipedia on papers...it's not a reliable resource
by Anonymous14 years ago
People always claim that it's not reliable, but everything on it has to be proven with sources. Wikipedia is already a collection of research papers. And with six million dollars recently spent on making and activating bots to sweep each page 24/7 for correct sourcing and accurate information, it'd be hard to prove it's unreliable.
FTR, i'm not calling you out or insulting you or anything. This is just the argument I use against my English teacher who still believes Wikipedia is unreliable despite all the evidence.

Huh. You should talk to my teachers then. Using Wikipedia on research papers would make my life a heck of a lot easier.

No kidding. My teacher also forbids it, but know what I do? I use wikipedia for the entire thing, then just click on each of the sources provided on the page and use those as my sources. I have yet to have anything in any of my papers pointed out to be incorrect.

Ha. Nice. Well, my next research paper will involve a lot less stress and a lot more YouTube.
