I don't know how I feel about these rape jokes..on one hand they're funny, but on the other hand it's a serious issue and it shouldn't be taken lightly. I bet if I was raped I wouldn't think this was funny..

As a rape victim myself, I find them offensive. I can take a joke as much as the next person, and I believe making light of a serious situation CAN be a good way to cope with it, but this just makes it sound like rape isn't a problem... Maybe that sounds contradictory, but I don't know how else to explain it...

Sure, rape is a serious issue, but I still find the jokes funny. It's the same with racial jokes. Offensive to some, hilarious to others. Depends on the person and their perception.

They're just...jokes. I think everyone who jokes about it COULD take it seriously if they needed to. It's like every other thing we joke about. Mommas, race, blondes. Not a lot of people take the jokes further. I don't really think a person would be cruel enough to say something like "HAHA THAT GIRL GOT RAPED, SHE DESERVED IT!!" either. In the end, yes, it might be offensive to someone, but they're JUST JOKES.

No need to get all caps lock on me lol but I do understand what you're saying. Maybe jokes don't desensitize rape to the extent where someone would say the victim deserved it, but they might see it as less of a big deal. Anyway just my opinion, who knows? Maybe it's harmless as you say
