-163 If pornstars and strippers thought their job was degrading they wouldn't do it, amirite?

The argument is that they have little choice. Like, most brothels and stripclubs are regulated, and it's unfair to judge prostitutes by those who do it illegally. But it is very common for a woman (or man) to have little other choice than to strip or sell their bodies - when you've got nothing, sex is one of the only ways to get money.

True but there are a lot of porn stars and strippers who enjoy what they do. There are porn stars who make a lot of money and could easily retire but they continue to do it because they like it.

I suppose. I kinda misread it, and thought it said "prostitutes and strippers", and I was more talking about prostitutes. Although there are many porn companies and strip clubs that treat their employees fairly and are looking for short-term work - IE, a woman who is in Uni and doing it to pay debt, and that won't hire drug addicts, unfortunately there are a lot more with questionable morals, and it's a difficult industry to leave.

Basically, it's a price for dignity.

Desperation- the state of being desperate or of having the recklessness of despair.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not every desperate woman becomes a pornstar or a stripper.

*only the hot ones

It depends on the woman. Some go into that profession because they know they'll make good money. Some do it because they're not educated. And some do it because they actually enjoy it.

Porn stars and strippers do it because they aren't worth anything as people. Those jobs are fucking disgusting.
